Itinerary

Day 1: Meet your leaders in Barcelona and transfer to Figueres before your first ride of the week through Catalonia

From Figueres to Ollers (22 miles)
Welcome to Catalonia and the city of Barcelona. Meet your leaders and travel from Barcelona to Figueres, for a light lunch and introduction to the week to come. While your trip leaders set up the bikes, go for visit of the Figueres Dali Museum, where artwork of Salvador Dali is on display for all to see. Then, ride your bicycle through the region of Catalonia before arriving at your hotel, Casa Anamaria.

Day 2: Cycle on a nice route to La Bisbal before an evening in the medieval village of Pals

From Ollers to Torrent (36 miles)
Today’s route takes you cycling through the beautiful countryside on your way to La Bisbal, also referred as La Bisbal d’Emporda. The route plan is to have lunch in Pubol, a typical medieval village prior to arriving in La Bisbal Emporda, now one of the leading centres for Catalonia pottery. In the evening, head out to Pals, the perfect example of what living in a medieval town is like. Don’t forget to take some pictures of the beautiful castle of Pals before heading back to your hotel.

Day 3: Ride your bicycle to Palafrugell and through the Baix Emporda and along the Mediterranean Sea

From Torrent to Torrent (40 miles)
Enjoy a nice breakfast on the terrace of your hotel. Then, get on your bike and ride through the Baix Emporda, famous for the Emporda wine and its beautiful coastline. Ride along the coast of the Alt Emporda, passing through Palafrugell on your way to the fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell. Take a walk through the town before lunch. Don’t hesitate to ask your leaders for recommendations if you really want to eat Mediterranean Sea bass. Following lunch in this old fishing village, cycle along the Mediterranean Sea for a few more miles before heading back to your hotel for dinner.

Day 4: Bike through the Pyrenees before a relaxing evening at your hotel

From Castellar de n’Hug to Bolvir (22 miles)
Leave your hotel located in the Alt Emporda and transfer to the Pyrenees. Start cycling in the village of castellar de n’Hug and tackle the Col de la Creueta before reaching the traditional village of la Molina for lunch. In the afternoon, keep biking through the Pyrenees landscape on your way to one of the best hotels in the Pyrenees mountains, the Torre Del Remei.

Day 5: Ride on the Cerdanya Plateau

From Bolvir to Bolvir (30 miles)
This morning, get ready for a scenic ride on the Cerdanya Plateau. Ride along with your new found friends and enjoy 360 degree views onto the Pyrenees. Arrive in Llivia for lunch on your own. In the afternoon, enjoy a downhill ride toward the Torre Del Remei. Once at your hotel, cycling is over so pack your cycling gear and cycling shoes and join the rest of the group for your farewell dinner.

Day 6: End the trip in Barcelona after a minivan transfer through the Girona area

End of the trip
Meet your trip leaders after Breakfast and ride in our minivan through the Girona region, on your way to Barcelona. Once in town, you may head out to the airport and fly back home or stay a few more days to explore more of the area. You may decide to travel to Girona as there is a train from Barcelona to Girona many time a day and the old town is very nice.

*Please note that the mileage indicated above refers to the basic route, which is the one that 85% of our guests ride. However, we offer multiple daily routes and you may read more about it in the Activity level section below or by clicking the detailed itinerary button above.
