Itinerary

Day 1: Meet your leaders at the foot of the Alps and on the shores of Lake Geneva

From Chateau d’Oex to Gstaad (15 miles)
Bienvenue in Geneva! Some of you may have already visited the city of Geneva but for those of you that haven’t there are many attractions around Lake Geneva, so you may ask our office for recommendations. Meet our team on the shores of Lake Geneva, one of Switzerland largest lakes. It is a natural lake located at the foot of the Alps and from there, transfer to Chateaux d’Oex for a light lunch and introduction to the week. Get on your bike and start riding through the Swiss Alps landscape on your way to Gstaad, a famous ski resort. End your day at a 5-star hotel offering amazing views on the surrounding countryside.

Day 2: Ride a stage of the Tour de Suisse

From Gstaad to Villars-sur-Ollon (24 miles)
Today’s stage is a challenging one and it kinds of feels like the Tour de Suisse.  Don’t worry, your tour of Switzerland is not as difficult as the Swiss bike race but your ride today takes you up the Col du Pillon, a mountain pass located at 5072 feet and at the foot of Glacier 3000, a Glacier located at 9842 feet. From there, cycle down to Villars-sur-Ollon for some downtime by the pool of your hotel.

Day 3: Go mountain biking on scenic trails

From Villars-sur-Ollon to Villars-sur-Ollon (13 miles)
Trade your touring bike for a mountain bike and get ready for some mountain biking. Don’t worry, the route we’ve designed is for mountain biking beginners and is on easy mountain bike trails. Most of the trails we use are also hiking trails which means that at anytime you can get off your bicycle and decide to walk.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Thun and ride through Bernese Oberland

From Gunten to Grindelwald (28 miles)
Get in our minivan and transfer to your starting location along the shores of Lake Thun. It is one of Interlaken lakes. Cycling your way across the lake, you notice that there are many cruises on Lake Thun and lake Brienz. From there, ride to Grindelwald a town located in the Bernese Oberland and at the foot of Bernese Oberland mountains, the Jungfrau, the Eigher and Schilthorn to just name a few.

Day 5: You and your fellow cyclists ride through the Lauterbrunnen valley

From Grindelwald to Lauterbrunnen (22 miles)
Enjoy a nice breakfast on the terrace of your hotel. Today, your cycling tour takes you through the Lauterbrunnen valley on your way to the Trummelbach falls. Cyclists of all level of abilities enjoy the ride and there is not need to be one of those famous cyclists. Enjoy lunch at one of the very few restaurants before cycling back to your hotel for some well deserve downtime. In the evening, pack your cycling gear and cycling shoes as you won’t be needing those, tomorrow.

Day 6: End of the trip and train ride to Zurich

End of the trip
Your cycling adventure ends at the Interlaken train station. From there, you may take a train to Zurich and then a taxi to the Zurich airport if you’re flying home. Ask your leaders to check the train schedule if you’re not sure of your train time.

*Please note that the mileage indicated above refers to the basic route, which is the one that 85% of our guests ride. However, we offer multiple daily routes and you may read more about it in the Activity level section below or by clicking the detailed itinerary button above.
