Trip overview

Explore Dalmatia as our Croatia bike tours take you through one of Europe’s hottest new destinations. In recent years, the Dalmatian Coast has blossomed as one of Croatia’s most sought-after escapes. Hvar, Korcula and Dubrovnik set the perfect stage for a cycling vacation of a lifetime. From the town of Split, built around the remains of the Diocletian’s Palace to the town of Dubrovnik and the Minčeta tower, Croatia has an amazing cultural heritage. Cycling in Croatia is a dream come true for many cyclists. After meeting your trip leaders in Split, the first island you explore by bike is Hvar. You then transfer to the island of Solta followed by another boat transfer to Brac and the island of Korcula. The Peljesac peninsula blessed with craggy mountains, idyllic coves and sweeping valleys is on your way to your last stop of the week. Your cycling trip through some of the most famous islands in the Adriatic Sea ends in Dubrovnik.

Itinerary

Day 1

From Stari Grad to Hvar (14 miles)
Split, often referred as the old town because it represents the original town of Split within the walls of Diocletian’s Palace, is the starting location of your bicycle tour before transferring to a nearby island. The island of Hvar is located off the Dalmatian coast and today’s ride takes you from Stari Grad to Hvar town.

Day 2

From Stomorska to Maslinica (16 miles)
Paklinski Islands, often translated as Hells’ island is your destination this morning. Don’t worry you’re kayaking and not biking.

Day 3

From Milna to Bol (34 miles)
This morning, the cycling tour begins with a boat transfer to the island of Brac and the town of Milna. Brac island is often associated with Washington DC as it is claimed that the white stone that you can find on the island was used in the White House.

Day 4

From Vela Luka to Vela Luka (32 miles)
Olive groves and vineyards have been existing on the island of Korcula for centuries and as you ride from the city of Vela Luka to the town of Smokvica you are surrounded by olives trees and acres of vineyards, before a wine tasting is organised at a local winery.

Day 5

From Smokvica to Korčula (18 miles)
Marco Polo, a medieval venetian merchant in the 12th century, is said to be born in Korcula and as your bike ride takes you through the town, you may spot its “alleged” house of birth.

Day 6

End of the trip
Dubrovnik encircled with massive stone walls is where you and your trip leaders bid each other farewell.

*Please note that the mileage indicated above refers to the basic route, which is the one that 85% of our guests ride. However, we offer multiple daily routes and you may read more about it in the Activity level section below or by clicking the detailed itinerary button above.
