There’s no doubt that France is a great place to go cycling. With its picturesque villages, beautiful countryside and (usually) good weather, it’s no wonder that so many people head to France for their annual cycling holiday.

But when is the best time of year to visit? Here are some things to consider when choosing when to go:

1. The weather: Obviously, you want to avoid cycling in the rain if possible! July and August tend to be the driest months, although you can also have good luck in June and September. Just be prepared for the occasional shower.

2. The crowds: If you’re looking for a more peaceful cycling experience, avoid peak tourist season (July and August). You’ll have the roads more to yourself outside of these months.

3. The prices: Hotels and other tourist attractions will be cheaper outside of peak season, so if you’re looking to save some money, this is something to consider.

So when is the best time of year to cycle in France? Ultimately, it depends on what you’re looking for. If you want good weather and fewer crowds, aim for June or September. If you’re looking to save some money, consider visiting in May or October. Whatever you decide, you’re sure to have a great time!

Corsica

June through September are the best months to cycle in Normandy. The weather is milder that the south of France then and there are fewer tourists. During those months you will have the opportunity to enjoy the scenery and the tranquility of the countryside.
