Bordeaux Bike Tour Itinerary

Discover the medieval village of St Emilion a unesco world heritage with a multitude of wine stores that are worth checking out.

Start the week with a fantastic day of cycling, riding from St-Emilion into Pomerol. On the way you cycle by some of the most famous estates of Bordeaux and their legendary names, Cheval Blanc, Figeac and Château Petrus. On the way you get to enjoy a private tasting at a small local vineyard.

 

Pedal in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region and an area called "Entre Deux Mer" where medieval ruins and châteaux which are set in a green, rolling countryside.

Later that day join an expert onenologist at a local wine school, for a fun and entertaining tasting. There you will learn the intricacies of the French appellation system and the art of wine tasting.

 

Shuttle in the heart of Dordogne and the town of les Ezyies de Taillac also know at the capital of prehistory. Enjoy a tour of the font de Gaume cave where you are introduced to France's finest collection of polychrome cave paintings dating back to 20,000 years.

Pedal past battle sites from the hundred years war and along the river to la Roque-Gageac a stunning town carved out of honey colored limestone. The town is also one of France most beautiful villages.

In the evening walk the cobble stone streets of the medieval town of Sarlat.

 

Todays ride is an easy ride through beautiful forests where along the way you get to see several of the chateaux and abandoned fortress that make Dordogne such a nice area and seems worlds away. On the way feast on Perigordian picnic lunch prepared by your guides while savoring beautiful views on the country site.

Get a chance to explore the hotel's formal gardens or play tennis with your new found friends on the hotel tennis court.

 

Enjoy moderate riding on peaceful roads to the town of Rocamadour, an impressive 12th century village stacked on rugged cliffs above the Alzou Canyon.

This morning and after a final breakfast together at the chateau de la Treyne, your trip leaders drive you to the Brive la Gaillard train station at around 12 PM.
