We are looking for trip leaders for the 2014 season. If you feel that you have what it takes fill out our application.
OVERVIEW OF THE TRIP LEADER POSITION
Our mission is to provide a memorable and amazing experience to all our guests, facilitating their journey as they explore the beautiful regions of France, Italy, Switzerland, Croatia, Czech Republic, Austria. In order to deliver the legendary customer service and attention to detail we are known for, we are looking for dynamic, flexible, reliable and organized leaders for our luxury cycling holidays in Europe. Some of the qualifications include engaging others in conversation, having the ability to motivate guests, being resourceful, organizationally inclined, and possessing the ability to make decisions.
During a typical day, leaders do a variety of tasks and must be extremely organized. The leaders are here to take care of the guests and manage the ever changing group dynamic while educating them about the history, culture and geology of the region they are visiting. Leaders are also in charge of organizing picnics, loading the bikes on the minivan when needed, take care of bills and represent us at hotels and restaurants.
Leaders tend to work long hours, are in constant interaction with the guests. While this is of course a fun job with many rewards (you get to travel and discover wonderful regions and countries), you have to remember that it is a job and not a vacation. The most common comment we hear from ours guest when we ask them how their vacation was, is that the “leaders made their vacation“. In other words, this means that great accommodations, unique access and great routes is one thing but GREAT LEADERS is what really make their vacation “extraordinary“.
During the day the leaders are always doing something from early in the morning to sometimes late at night. The leaders do a multitude of tasks and they must be able to seamlessly go from on to the other.
Many of you reading the job description think that getting through our candidate selection and being a DIGnGO trip leader is a dream job, and while it certainly has many aspects that make it enviable (cycling in beautiful regions around the world with wonderful guests,...), it is a difficult job asking a lot from you on several level: physical, emotional, mental and it is not for everyone. Our goal is not to scare you but we want to give you a realistic idea of what it is all about.
